Peachtree Hills is known as one of Atlanta’s most charming neighborhoods. The lush landscape is filled with bungalows and cottages built over a hundred years ago to new construction that reflects that charm that the neighborhood demands. Residents of Peachtree Hills can be found strolling the streets walking to the park, sitting with neighbors on the many front porches or visiting local restaurants tucked into the neighborhood streets.

My husband and I rented an apartment in Peachtree Hills when we were first married, and I remember those years so fondly! Shortly after we moved in, one of my dearest friends and her husband purchased a home within walking distance. This is that home! So many fun memories in this place, and I am so glad to share it with you all. Below you will find photos of the home as well as a little Q&A I played with the sellers. It is a MUST READ! I always enjoy discovering why a homeowner loved their home from the start and what they love about it from over the years. Enjoy!

Seller Q&A

What do you love most about Peachtree Hills?

Peachtree Hills is great because you get the feeling of a quiet, walkable, family neighborhood with all the convenience of being in the middle of a big city. There aren't a lot of neighborhoods with such easy access to Midtown and Buckhead where you can also walk to the grocery store. We love it so much we're looking to stay!

What is your favorite space in your home?

We’re partial to the back yard -- we've spent countless nights out back by the fire and afternoons playing with our daughter. It's private and especially nice in the spring when the trees are blooming.

When you first saw 172 Springdale, what was this thing that grabbed your attention most?

We were looking for character in a home, and we found it here. From the front porch railing to the molding to the hardwoods, we loved (and will dearly miss) all the unique touches.

What is your fondest memory or tradition you have in your home?

This is specific, but we love the way the Christmas lights look wrapped up and down the front railing. Sitting in the living room on December nights looking out at the glow of the lights on that porch is a feeling I'll always remember, even more so after our daughter was born -- she always thought it was "magical" out there.

What is something unique/quirky about your home that you never knew you would love so much?

We always considered ourselves "open concept" people, but we found ourselves appreciating the flow of the older home, especially during parties, mingling from living room to dining room to kitchen to back deck. The spaciousness of the master bedroom has also always felt luxurious for a smaller home.

What element of your home are you most proud of?

We think the curb appeal of this house stacks up with any home in the neighborhood. The way it sits up on a little hill with all its bungalow character has always charmed us.

If you could share one piece of advice to the next owner of this home, what would it be?

Take full advantage of all the outdoor space this place offers. Have a drink out by a fire pit on a winter's night; have a picnic in the back yard on a spring day when the trees and flowers are blooming; spend a summer afternoon with a book on the porch swing; invite your friends over to watch a football game on the back deck in the fall.
